Challenge.

A critically important project for CRRC Changchun. the contract to deliver rolling stock for the extension of Line 3 was their first major project in Guangzhou secured by the manufacturer.

Approach

With input from all levels of CRRC’s business, Fordyno’s role lay in the development of the design in line with the authorities expectations as well as addressing internal stakeholder input.

Fordyno was heavily involved in managing and navigating these expectations to produce a final and feasible product meant daily communication with teams in China as well as supporting CRRC with representation at meetings with the local authority.

The design entered production in 2022 with operation commencing in 2023.

Interior Design.

Referencing the design language across the other lines running in Guangzhou the interior design was developed as a clean, functional and inviting space for the busy line.

Subtle hints of the local culture were incorporated in to the overall interior bonding it with the city in which it will enter service.
